Pompeo To Discuss The Impact of The Venezuelan Crisis on Guyana
A briefing from the U.S. State Department today confirms that the Secretary of State will discuss the Venezuelan crisis’s impact on Guyana. This meeting will include President Irfaan Ali and the Guyana Foreign Minister, Hugh Todd.
The Secretary of State will arrive in Guyana from Suriname on Thursday to discuss the U.S. Caribbean relationship and thank CARICOM for their support for democracy during the recount of the Guyana elections.
They will also have a bilateral agreement on anti-narcotics and maritime patrols. A memorandum of understanding will be signed to encourage improved investment that will benefit the country at large.
The speaker of the House, Manzoor Nadir, denies the opposition an opportunity to ask questions about the U.S. Secretary of State’s two-day visit to Guyana. The U.S. briefing today reveals such pertinent information.
