69 Kilograms Of Marijuana Found On Registered Cargo At GNIC Wharf…CANU

According to a CANU report, a registered cargo vessel loaded with vegetables from Barbados, marked with the label “CV1”, was investigated twice at the GNIC Wharf at Lombard Street, Georgetown, on October 6, and 7, 2020.

Two Barbadian nationals crew members and four Guyanese were arrested as consistent with reports from the Anti-Narcotics Agency. The CANU stated that the vessel had been in Guyana for several weeks undergoing repairs. 

The suspected package consisted of 69.246 kilograms of marijuana.
