PPP Fires Afro-Guyanese Director Of Communication And Consumer Affairs Commission Dawn Holder-Cush

The Director of Communication and Consumer Affairs Commission, Dawn Holder-Cush, and former the Magistrate’s contract was terminated today on October 14, 2020, by the new Board. The reasoning given by the Board stemmed from the instruction of the current administration. 

The Chairperson of the Commission, Dhanwanti Sukhdeo, served Ms. Cush with a termination letter with no reasons given for her termination. According to Ms. Cush, the belief is that her dismissal came as a result of her affiliation with the current opposition party, the APNU+AFC.

She is now one of many other afro-Guyanese professionals whose jobs were terminated because of their political affiliation.
