Teen Boy Allegedly Shot And Killed Himself With Father’s Unsecured Gun

A 15-year-old boy from Triumph, East Coast Demerara, died yesterday after allegedly killing himself with his father’s unsecured gun. 

According to reports, the teen father went to work and left his licensed Glock pistol with rounds on top of a built-in closet behind. According to the police, the man’s wife left shortly after, leaving the boy, his sister, brother, and the babysitter in the home. 

An unconfirmed report suggests that the sister saw the deceased brother remove a firearm from his haversack, went into the bedroom, and closed the door behind him. The boy was found with a bullet wound on both sides of his head with the gun next to his hand. 

This matter is currently under investigation.
