PPP/C Government Goes After Black Own Business “Cevons” After CEO Expressed Interest In Oil and Gas Sector
Black-owned business Cevons Waste Management has now become the new target of the Jagdeo/Ali led PPP Government of Guyana war on afro-Guyanese. After months of layoffs and weeks of evictions of hundreds of predominately Afro-Guyanese jobs and lands, Chief Executive Officer, Morse Archer received a letter from Attorney-General and Minister of Legal Affairs, Anil Nandlall, SC, stating that Cevons nor its subleases have any right to use or occupy the land they currently have a 50-year lease for.
Nandlall stated that land belongs to the National Sports Commission (NSC) and although Cevons possess a 50-year lease from the Guyana Lands and Surveys Commission (GLSC), it is null and void, and the new modern structure on the property must be removed.
Nandlall also acknowledges that Archer paid a large sum of money for the land but that too is of no consequence, citing that Lands and Survey had no right to lease the land and it should have come directly from the office of the president.
Archer spoke to the press earlier in the year stating, “We have been trying to do everything possible to position ourselves for the upcoming oil and gas sector as we continue to expand,”.
With over two decades of experience in providing garbage and septic disposal services, Archer said that his company was looking to expand into other areas such as wastewater treatment, but all plans of expansion must now halt since becoming a target of the PPP/C government.
