Afro-Guyanese Volda Lawrence Charged With Conspiracy To Defraud The March 2nd Elections

The Chair of the People’s National Congress Reform (PNC/R) has been arrested today, October 13, 2020, at the CID Headquarters, Eve Leary.

According to Attorney At Law Nigel Hughes, Lawrence was asked to hand over her personal belongings and then was taken for questioning.

Volda Lawrence is a former Minister of Government under the APNU/AFC and a PNC/R member. She is the first minister to be arrested in connection with the investigation of election fraud under the current administration, PPP/C.

This morning Volda Lawrence was charged with conspiracy to defraud the March 2nd elections after presenting herself at CID Headquarters. Lawrence is accused of conspiring with Region Four Returning Officer, Clairmont Mingo of the declaration of the March 2nd elections.
