Barbados PM Mia Mottley Upset Thousands of Guyanese in Her Attempts To Subvert High Court Decision.. Strained Country Relations.

As tensions rise in Guyana due to the delayed declaration of results for the March 2020 Elections by the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM), Barbados Prime Minister Mia Mottley attempted to overturn a Guyanese high court decision with her opinion and interpretation of Guyanese law.

PM Mottley took to social media earlier today to voice her opinion despite constitutional and legal Guyanese entities are yet to make a final decisions and three high court judges ruled on the case. The Barbados Prime Minister attempted to interpret Guyanese law based on her own understanding, which many found as “disrespectful and distasteful” according to several members of parliament from both PPP/C and APNU/AFC parties.

Nevertheless, thousands of Guyanese took to social media to vent their frustration with what was said by PM Mia Mottley.
