Haresh Singh Body Laid To Rest

Two weeks after the alleged murder of Haresh Singh, His body was laid to rest today.

President Irfaan Ali was in attendance and said that he is still saddened by the young man’s death and will ensure the perpetrators are brought to justice.

Ali indicated that he is working really hard by putting programs in place to unify the country.

“In memory of these young men, our focus has to be on healing, on bringing our country together, and on unifying our efforts to ensure we do not have a repeat of these incidents…we have to do these things, in addition to ensuring justice is served for these young men,”

“As President, I can assure you that my Government is going to work day and night to bring our people together, through policies and programmes, through social efforts and the merging of cultures.” Ali said.

Singh was last seen leaving his home for the farm in the #3 Village, West Coast Berbice. The Guyana Police Force confirms that Singh was killed during the early morning hours on September 9, 2020.

Haresh Singh’s family was alarmed by fire coming from the backdam and decided to inquire. Singh’s body was discovered bleeding from the nose. He was rushed to the New Amsterdam Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Dr. Irfaan Ali wants to ensure Guyanese that there will be a complete investigation into the murders of three young men, Haresh Singh, Joel and Isaiah Henry.
