Is Mike Pompeo A True Champion For Democracy Or He Is Far From Reality?
Montreal (GP) – Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is still yet to accept the US election results, which clearly shows former Vice President Joe Biden as the 46th President-Elect and Kamala Harris as the Vice President-Elect after the November 3rd elections.
This year, Mike Pompeo made headlines in Guyana by advocating for free and fair elections with a peaceful transition. However, it seems as though when reality hits home, he is afraid to go against his boss President Donald Trump. Pompeo is of the impression that the legal proceedings will reverse the election results by allowing the Trump administration to lead for another four years.
“There will be a smooth transition to a second Trump administration,” said Mike Pompeo.
President Donald Trump still refuses to accept the Biden-Harris victory and blocks him from receiving funding to build his new administration. Biden and Harris will take up office in January after the inauguration.
A few months ago, the Secretary of State indicated that they would sanction Guyana if the former President, David Granger, did not step down to allow a smooth transition for the party Pompeo believed won the election.
“The Granger government must respect the results of democratic elections and step aside,” said Mike Pompeo
He also warned that “visa restrictions on individuals responsible for or complicit in undermining democracy in Guyana.”
The PPP regime was finally sworn into office after the US Ambassador and other international allies interfered with Guyana’s election. Mike Pompeo’s favourite word is ‘democracy’ claiming to be an ambassador for something he does not recognize at home.
The Guyana illegitimate government called Mike Pompeo “a champion for democracy” after Pompeo cleared the way for the declarations of the March 2, 2020 elections.
The Guyana election has proven to have many irregularities and ended up at the Supreme Court in Guyana and the Caribbean Court of Justice (CCJ) in Trinidad. The two parties are currently in courts under two-election petitions filed by the APNU+AFC, the opposition party. The petitions aim to challenge the results of the March 2, 2020, general and regional elections.
