Police Called On Berbician Based In NY Who Insisted Uber Take Him To New Amsterdam Guyana
According to Southold Town Police in New York, on Dec. 3 at 11:32 a.m., an Uber driver, 61, called police about a man, 54, who had requested a ride east. The driver ended the ride at the Gulf gas station on Route 25 in Laurel due to lack of payment, police said.
The man told the driver that he’d left from his son’s home in Queens — and was trying to get to New Amsterdam, in Guyana.
The driver told the rider “that he was headed in the wrong direction.”
He then took him to the bus stop in Mattituck, at the man’s request, police said.
