PPP Fires Director of the Department of Energy Mark Bynoe
Montreal (GP) – Mark Bynoe, Head of the Department of Energy services, was terminated from December 11, 2020. According to a letter from the Office of the President signed by the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Bynoe was sent on immediate leave with no explanation.
This termination did not come as a surprise. The vice president, Bharat Jagdeo, hinted a few days ago that Mr. Bynoe would be removed from the position because he is not qualified for the job.
Dr. Bynoe held this position for the past two years under the previous administration. His contractual agreement would have ended in July 2021. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics and a Masters Degree in Resource Management.
Mark Bynoe is now part of a list of Afro-Guyanese who lost their job under this administration.
