Teens Murder Probe By RSS Concluded…Commissioner Of Police Awaits Report
The Commissioner of Police, Nigel Hoppie, told reporters from Kaieteur News that the investigation into the murder of three teenage boys, Isaiah, Joel Henry, and Haresh Singh has been concluded, and now awaits an official report.
The five-member team from the Regional Security System (RSS) were formally invited by the current administration to investigate the gruesome murder, with the Guyana Police Force (GPF) also awaiting crime scene samples sent overseas in aid in the investigation.
As a result of an MOU signed by the Government of Guyana and The Caribbean Community Implementation Agency for Crime and Security (CARICOM IMPACS), the (RSS) visited Guyana to further assist the government with the probe.
As previously reported, the police force conducted a local investigation and found nothing evidential leading up to the teens’ death. In response, the lack of action for the murders subsequently led to rioting and protesting in the Berbice area, pressuring the government of Guyana to seek international help towards bringing the perpetrators to justice.
