According to a press release dated September 15, 2020, from the Department of Spokesperson, Morgan Ortegus indicated that Pompeo would travel to Paramaribo, Georgetown, Boa Vista, Bogota, and Plato from September 17-20, 2020.
The U.S. Secretary of State trip will underscore the “United States commitment to defend democracy, combat COVID-19 while revitalizing our economies in the pandemic’s wake, and strengthen security against regional threats.”

BOGOTA – Meeting with the Columbian President Ivan Duque to discuss strong partnership for country share, managing COVID-19, tackling threats and regional security from narcotraffickers, terror groups, and Maduro illegitimate regime.
Finally, Michael Pompeo will return to the United States.
